steven laganas

founder & Ceo

Steve Laganas is the founder of L2H Group and serves as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. Steve owns and operates a multitude of multi-million-dollar businesses up and down the east coast. He began his ventures 36 years ago as ABLE Rigging Contractors, Inc. with just one small flatbed truck. When Steve saw an opportunity to be a supplier rather than a consumer of construction equipment, Able Equipment Rental was founded. Steve grew the business with expertise and visionary thinking to include over 320 employees and over 8000 pieces of equipment. After 26 highly successful years operating the equipment rental business, he recently completed a major transaction with the largest publicly traded rental equipment company in the country.


Steve’s daily responsibilities and experience include all aspects of business management, strategic development, and financial planning of all his companies. He participates in the hiring and supervision of all key employees of the companies, and authorizes major purchases, expenditures, and disbursements. His hands on leadership style creates a collaborative team atmosphere that flows throughout the organizations and consistently drives results. His ability to identify and leverage synergies has created a family of organizations that is primed for continued growth and success.


L2H Group is Steve’s latest venture as he looks to capture an area of the industry he has not yet sought after. Following dozens of offers and opportunities to perform in different arenas within the construction industry, Steve is seeking to be a competitive force in the contracting industry. As with all his endeavors, he has surrounded himself with a team of well qualified professionals.

keith Lanning

Co-founder & vice president

Keith is a co-founder of L2H Group and serves as the company’s Vice President. With a master’s degree in business and a background in real estate and construction, he has spent the last 19 years as a VP of a Long Island and New York City contracting and development firm. Keith has been involved in every aspect of real estate development project beginning with site selection, to project planning and design, entitlements, to permitting, financing, bidding, contracts, construction management, and closeout. Most recently, he led his previous firm in their own groundbreaking of a 5-acre, 200-unit luxury rental project on Long Island.


From a contracting standpoint, Keith has head up multiple large scale NYC projects including 56 Leonard, Trump SOHO, MIMA, Silverstein Towers, the Edition Hotel, and more where he has overseen over 100 men performing some of the most versatile and intelligent installations in New York City.


Keith portrays a strong business acumen and an ability to always maintain and ensure effective and efficient productivity from all aspects of business. Whether it be keeping up with deadlines, ensuring work is performed within a budget, or motivating men to overcome impossible tasks to get the job done- he has always been ready, willing, and able to take on any task necessary. His problem-solving skills and ability to think outside the box are what separate him from others in the industry. No matter the obstacle that arises, he always finds a way to come to an amicable solution.

Howard Hawkesworth

 CO-FOUNDER / PROJECT EXECUTIVE

Howard has close to 40 years of direct hands-on experience in the construction industry. He began as a laborer for Elmore Associates and quickly became an Operating Engineer within Local Union 138.


At Elmore, Howard performed various water improvement operations, including the installation and replacement of water mains, hydro stops, service taps, meter sets, RPZ (underground and above ground), directional borings, pump stations, hanging water mains, lead goosenecks and lead services, drainage systems, and has performed all the necessary pressure testing for such work. Howard’s gas work experience includes the installations of new gas services and all associated metering, piping, and testing for residential and commercial applications.


He is proficient in all site and drainage work including catch basins, drainage pools, culverts, headwalls, shoring, concrete vaults, curbs, sidewalks, parking lots, footings, asphalt, and more. Howard is also well versed in the operations of all heavy machinery including back hoes, payloaders, excavators, telehandlers, asphalt rollers, or skid steers. After nearly 2 decades with Elmore, Howard moved on to ALBE Equipment and Rigging as a project and facilities manager where he oversaw the daily maintenance and operations of 9 facilities totaling 530,000sqft on over 100 acres. Howard self-performed all site improvements, drainage, and grading of ABLE properties including its main 12-acre facility which included the redirection of open-cut streams into underground culverts, 27 drain pools, 10 catch basins, and 1100 linear feet of piping. This not only increased ABLE’s usable property but it improved the Town’s overall stormwater management system. Furthermore, Howard has led all construction for ABLE’s office and warehouse renovations, extensions, and fit-outs including the steel erection for their

on-site Butler style buildings.
